报告题目：Writing Technical Articles in English
报告摘要：Technical writing in English is perceived to be difficult especially by non-English speakers. However, the difficult parts are the research behind the article and the structure and organization of the article rather than the language. Technical articles supported by solid research can always be published. Motivations for research and technical writing are discussed. The structure and organization of a technical article are emphasized. The major sections in a technical paper are outlined. Cautions and caveats are mentioned. Some techniques in word processing are also presented.

报告题目：Revising Journal Articles – Responding to the Comments of the Reviewers
报告摘要：Journal article revision is a crucial step in the publication process. Some articles may go through four or five revisions before being accepted for publication. The peer review process will be discussed. Criteria used by the editors and reviewers to judge the quality of an article is presented. Techniques for responding to different editorial decisions and responding to different reviewer requests and comments are emphasized. Tips for writing the responses to the reviewers are also provided.
孙明和教授简介
孙明和,美国佐治亚大学管理科学博士，美国德州大学圣安东尼奥分校商学院终身正教授。主要研究方向：多目标决策、运作管理、组合优化、神经网络等。曾在《Management Science》、《Operation Research》、《Decision Sciences》、《INFORMS Journal on Computing》、《Transportation Science》、《European Journal of Operational Research》等国际著名期刊上发表论文40余篇。此外，孙明和教授还是国际学术期刊《International Journal of Strategic Decision Sciences》和《Information Science and Technology》的副主编，《International Journal of Information Technology & Decision Making》和《ISRN Applied Mathematics》编委，在相关研究领域及英文论文写作等方面具有丰富经验。
